Coordinates 4.5 : World Magnetic Model Calculator

Hello,

It’s been a week with a lot of updates

Coordinates 4.5 adds three more features! (I would call this version 5.0 if I could polish its design a bit more).

1. World Magnetic Model Calculator!

It’s now possible to calculate these information related to geomagnetic fields

D = Declination (Degree)

I = Inclination (Degree)

X = North Intensity (nT)

Y = East Intensity (nT)

H = Horizontal Intensity (nT)

Z = Vertical Intensity (nT)

F = Total Intensity (nT)

GV = Magnetic Grid Variation (Degree)

Press Magnet icon on the main page to view these information

Press on Altitude or Date to make changes to these value

Select WMM model to use in setting menu (WMM2015 or WMM2015v2)

2. View more coordinates at once

Press Number 2 icon on the main view to turn on secondary coordinates banner.

Select coordinates type as you wish.

3. View transformed coordinates on map

In transform coordinates menu, all coordinates type will be available to view on map.

However, it’s not possible to save pin as this time.

4. Performance Boost

We removed redundancy calculations from the app. It should works faster on slower devices.

Introducing Elevation 3.0

I’m delighted to introduce you latest update to Elevation app.

Elevation 3.0

There are changes in all three modes

• Get Elevation

  • We switched to new server which is hosted by us. Improved performance expected

• Get Elevation Range

  • Now it’s possible to measure elevation range in two or more sections

  • Lines color will reflect to height of that particular spot

  • Also switched to new server

• Get Elevation from GPS

  • Now plot circles on the map and change color depends on elevation differences between points

  • Tap on a point to recall previous elevation value

More update: 14 Jun 2019 - More discontinues

Hello,

I’m delighted to announce so many new updates happening this week.

SunMap version 3.9 is now available with option to remove ads. At $0.99 per month, which is half the price of all other map apps.

Coordinates version 4.4 is also available with save/load/renaming features.

We finally completed writing instruction for Coordinates app. You can check it here

Beginning next week, we will migrate Elevation app data source to our own server to reduce latency and cost. We ordered new dedicated server to provide data just for this purpose.

We also decided to discontinue more older apps so we can only focus on the most important one.

As a toast of farewell here are the list of app which already or soon to be removed from the App Store.

ThaiElevation - Elevation app Thai edition. We made this app for Thai flood 2011. We discussed with Apple on the existence of this App. We have to let this app go for good since Elevation app now have Thai localization.

DrawArea

We wrote this app along side with Distance app. DrawArea app provide area calculation just be drawing shape on the map.

However, Distance 5.0 now has area calculation as well as using higher precision algorithm. We decided to discontinue this DrawArea app and suggest everyone to migrate to Distance app instead.

MorseTap

We made this app to catch-up with Google’s April fool days joke on April, 2012. Which they provide Morse code keyboard for all devices.

Google introduces new google TAP replacing old QWERTY pad. The mischievous new Google product is called Gmail Tap. It already has its own product page, where Google explains that it will offer "multi e-mail" mode with a dual-threaded keyboard, to allow you to type multiple messages at one time.

We managed to get this app feature on Appadvice as well!

Unitext

We made a mistake using unicode character as the app name. People can’t find this app! We made this app before custom keyboard is available on the iOS. Just for fun!

Antipodes

Just a map tunneling tool. Nothing else

Population

Calculate population within circle. We use this app as an engine for BlastSim app.

Introducing Distance 5.0

Hello,

It has been raining all week here in Bangkok. Since we can’t really go out, we had more time to work on more App updates.

Today, we’re proud to present you a new version of my very first app ever.

Welcome to a completely new Distance app.

Version 5.0

Here are list of new features:

1. Redesigned User Interface

We replace toggle button (Measure/Draw) to a switch. Which hopefully will be much more easy to understand. You may notice that the app has two switch instead of one, that’s because………

2. Area measurement

Distance app now includes area measurement feature just like DrawArea. We use new algorithm which is far more accurate than what we provided in DrawArea app.

Coefficient feature works with area unit as well as distance unit.

Note: Since we provided area measurement within Distance app, DrawArea app will soon be discontinued and remove from the App Store. Please migrate to Distance app as soon as possible. We will also push a new update which will remind every user to migrate to Distance app instead.

Instruction has been updated to reflect this update.

Introducing Coordinates 3.8

Hello, I’m delighted to introduce you to new version of Coordinates App.

Version 3.8 came with new location monitoring feature by using in-device GPS.

Enter this menu by pressing “Arrow Zoom” button near bottom right of the screen. You can activate tracking mode by pressing “Current Location” Twice.

You could set coordinates type to any type. Not limited to just MGRS or UTM. Measured distance between current location and last selected pin is also provided.

Now I’m waiting App Store team to approves this version. So everyone can try it once it is ready for sale.

It’s been a week since I announced app development roadmap for Q2 2019.

Here is some progress.

Naming

• I plan to reform this website into something less casual than what currently is. I will properly register a company within early of next year. So, I need a new name that isn’t myice92.

We got a name for our future company. We will announce it after we finish with paperworks!

Barcode

• Generate barcode and export to other apps (Within June)

Already started the project. semi-working prototype is almost ready

Coordinates

• Large readout of all coordinates formats, I think it will be great for anyone who use the app on the field. (within May)

Completed! As shown above. I will polish UI afterward

Elevation

• Merging ThaiElev app with Elevation app. Beginning May, ThaiElev will be permanently removed.

Discontinuation update for ThaiElev apps has been released.

Decided to kill most of older apps

Here is some update regarding my apps collection.

Today, I remove 15 apps from my developer account. I stopped release new updates to most of these app since 2016. Removing these app would make my account a lot less cluttered.

Since I already left this app go for good :( I would like to share some stories behind these apps. :)

This was my group project for Game Development during my 3rd year undergrad in 2011?. I got an A. So it was worth it. Originally released as a paid app.

I made this app using the same engine as MissingMelody. It is another doodle jump clone with character drawn by my University friend who is also an artist for Missing Melody! This game however was simply my personal project.

It was one of my first first apps (No 7th to be exact). Put a thin sheet of paper to let light shine through paper as use it as protractor.

Draw to measure

It was a funny app. This app was nothing but a grid on the screen. Then user draw a line with finger to measure length of the line.

This app is a reason why Distance app exists today.

BackgroundMaker

Random Pattern generator

This app is a successor of CircleMaker. $1 app which has similar feature.

PaintCanvas

Simple doodle app

These two apps are plain similar. Drawing app with nothing but one type of brush.

DrawOnMap

As the title said

I wrote so many map apps. However, I’m not really proud of this app because it can’t really do anything much apart from drawing simple line on the map. So I decided to remove it from my account as well.

That was a long list in my opinion, but I need to move on to make my main apps even better. Although many of these apps I remove today aren’t great enough to be left available for download. But it was quite a great journey and I did learnt a lot along the way. That’s why I’m still here today as an app developer.

Hello, it’s been a while since my last update. It’s almost time for Songkran festival in Thailand. Most people here begin to have vacation, but I’m optout this year. Hope that I could spend more time coding.

Update:

Starting today, Apple now required screenshots for iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro Generation 3 to be included in the next app update.

Since, I’m doing screenshot manually using photoshop for every localisations. It will make much more time to push an update for some older apps.
