We’re excited to release version 9.8.5 of Coordinates — our most extensive update in years. From a full Apple Watch overhaul to deeper GPS insights and new language support, this update brings a refreshed experience across every platform.
⌚ Apple Watch App: Rebuilt, Refocused
We’ve scrapped the old design and completely rebuilt the Apple Watch app using SwiftUI.
The new version is:
Big, clean, and focused — coordinates are front and center
Designed for quick glances with no clutter
Operated with a single button for instant access or switching formats
It’s the simplest, fastest way to check your location on your wrist — whether in the field or on the move.
🛰️ New: GPS Manager Page
In preparation for upcoming external GPS support, we’ve added a dedicated GPS Manager page.
Even with just internal GPS, you can now view:
Accuracy (horizontal & vertical)
Altitude, speed, and course
Fix type, update rate, and timestamp
Device model and source info
This page will evolve as we integrate Bluetooth GPS devices in future updates.
🏎️ Fullscreen Digital Speedometer
We’ve added a fullscreen mode to the Speedometer with a sleek HUD-style interface.
Supports:
Light and dark themes
Real-time speed updates
Works with internal GPS, with external Bluetooth GPS support coming soon.
Perfect for driving, cycling, or just testing GPS performance.
🌐 Language Expansion + Translation Overhaul
We’ve added full localization for 6 more languages:
Vietnamese
Korean
Turkish
Arabic
Indonesian
Hebrew
We also performed a deep cleanup across all existing translations to fix phrasing, alignment, and consistency issues.
🖼️ App Store Screenshots: Fully Updated
For the first time in over 4 years, we’ve updated our App Store screenshots across all supported languages. These now reflect the latest UI — including shape tools, object editing, and the new User Grid system.
🔄 What’s New in Coordinates 9.8.5
A modernized experience on all devices
Deep GPS insights & fix status
Improved speed tracking
Localization upgrades
Clean, accurate App Store visuals
With this release, we’re slowing the pace of major updates. The app now feels complete — stable, polished, and full-featured — so we don’t expect large UI changes going forward. That’s why we chose now to refresh all screenshots.
📚 What’s Next
Our next priority is updating the documentation to match the latest version.
We’re also preparing for external hardware integration — and we won’t launch version 10.0 until at least one hardware device is fully supported.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
